STS AIR INTAKE RULES

Post by oldmuscle69 »

JB said he was going to go the limit on the rule or try to, who has access to some thin wall lightweight tube in 2.5 to 2.75 diameter and could swedge from one diameter up or down and also do some bending on parts of the tube. Might involve welding tube parts and the install of OEM hose fittings as they are in the intake airstream and cant be removed. Thanks.

Pep Boys usually has a good selection of DIY intake tubes. Some have the smaller tubes already welded in.

I checked them and was not happy with $39.00 for an 18 inch straight pipe.Much less the bent pipes.

It is called $t$. It has to be stainless or plastic or you'll be sucking rust into your intake. Ain't gonna be cheap.

You wanna know how much I'm planning to spend on replacing my exhaust system? I don't think I could buy just one tube in the system for that little. A tune to take advantage of the better breathing, assuming you actually get better breathing, will cost more than that.

spent an hour on the phone and $124.00, I will try it out. If it don't work at least I can send it back.I think if someone knew how to bend tubes the price would have been a lot less, really only needed one tube bent four or five times.

Been checking around and all I can find is a WEAPON R product, gave up on making one for the the time being. I did get one made at a local muffler shop and will not put it on,single pipe, like I want. But to heavy.Any one know of a shop that does mandrel bending? Does not need to be in K Ville.I want to send them what I have and get a pipe and connectors back. Tried calling WP and got 3 diff answers on pipe diameter.
