New to auto-x
Hows it going guys. I'm fairly new to the auto-x scene. I've previously been involved in the drag racing and drifting scene but have taken an interest in road course style events. My vehicle is a 1990 tt 300zx. I know the season is winding down, but with any luck I'll be out there with you guys next year.

Welcome! I know of a few 300ZX fans. Check out www.sportscarfrenzy.com if you want to meet some other car people.
Oh, and what mods do you have? We can help you figure out your class.

Currently it's got a full turbo back exhaust, 6 puck clutch, boost has been turned up to 13 psi, tuned ecu, upgraded brakes, front and rear strut bars, over sized turbos (t-25 housing with t-28 internals). It pushes about 350 hp and 348 tq currently.

Nice! The upped boost bumps you into a *SP class for sure, the bigger turbos might be SM, but I'm not sure without extra reading.afterburnerZ wrote:Currently it's got a full turbo back exhaust, 6 puck clutch, boost has been turned up to 13 psi, tuned ecu, upgraded brakes, front and rear strut bars, over sized turbos (t-25 housing with t-28 internals). As long as I can be competative (and get my tires to hook) I'll be happy lol, I just enjoy competition and being around people that love cars.

You'll be fine.afterburnerZ wrote:As long as I can be competative (and get my tires to hook) I'll be happy lol, I just enjoy competition and being around people that love cars.
I don't know what tires you have, but if they're non-R-comps, you can run STM, which is a regional anything goes on street tires class (treadwear 140 or above).

You'll be in SM, but STM will probably be a better fit. Try to get to one this year, here or chattanooga.

If its a two seater, SSM. If its a 2+2, I think its alright, and the rules only excludes pre '90 Nissan Z 2+2.steverife wrote:300z is SSM, no?
Class SM

minimum of four seats and four factory seat belts).
Excluded Vehicles:

Honda CRX

Actually yes I am. I was headed to drill that day and needed a pick me up. And my z is a 2+0 (two seater) so what would that put me at?

Re: New to auto-x
Like Ryan (01badz28) said, SSM if you can carry 2 people. Or STM, if you don't want to buy sticky tires.afterburnerZ wrote:And my z is a 2+0 (two seater) so what would that put me at?
