Pellissippi lot

Post by Fastech »

Hey guys,

I'm wondering what the lot looks like for this weekend. I'd like to run somewhere that would be some good practice & tuning for Dixie next weekend. We have a local here in Chattanooga, but with our lot and set up, it just doesn't really give me much help in that regard. But I've got kids to pick up later that afternoon, so Chatty is a lot more convenient. So, for those of you who have run at both lots with both clubs, I'm curious: is it worth my time and effort to come up for Pellissippi? Is it appreciably better than a Chattanooga (Eastgate Mall) course? Looking for insight to make my decision, thanks guys!

It's bigger, but it's got elevation changes. I'd say that Pelli is cleaner, less dirt n such.

Is it better? IMO yes

Is it worth the drive if it's going to put you in a bind? Eh, depends on your priorities.

The grip is marginally better (a lot better if it's cold/wet). It is almost always faster. As others have pointed out, it is on a hill, so if you're prepping for a flat lot...keep that in mind.

The finish probably won't be as brutal ;)

Event-wise: no food on site up here, gotta go across the road or pack a lunch.

Video of semi-typical Pellissippi course (Pardon the cheese, I blame the guy who stuck the camera on my car :)):

Brian,seriously..the lot is faster..and more to a National design..however, we both realize neither lot is National caliber. The competition will be stronger.. and Joe Austin looks to be stopping in on his way to Dixie.. Im sure Pro Class will be fun in Grid...and on course!

 Not to bring more argument up, but you should know we aren't running an RT Pax multiplier in Pro.

 Now that you bring it up, I think we should. Makes for some good clean fun.

Brian, I haven't run Chatty so I can't comment. But JB is setting up the course. So, it should be fast and it definitely won't be painful.

I'm signed up! I heard y'all weren't doing any RT multipliers in Pro, so I just signed up for AS street tire. Sound right? I'm still trying to figure out how to make this pooch turn anyway...
